Juniors participate in monthly training (drills), fund raising events, and competition with other junior departments.

                                                   Common Questions

As a junior will I be running calls and fighting fires?

Answer: By its nature Fire and EMS service can potentially be a dangerous occupation and should only be undertaken by fully trained individuals. NWFD Junior Fire Fighters are considered "in training" and under such status will not undertake emergency fire suppression duties.

How Do I join the Junior Fire Department?

Answer: Interested young persons are encouraged to attend one of our monthly meetings held the second Thursday of every month at the New Windsor Fire Station.

Does my service to the Junior Fire Company count towards my school community service requirement?

Answer: Yes, active participation in the Junior Fire Company does count towards the requirement, however the Junior Fire Fighter must participate actively in the program to meet the requirement.
