In a contest held at the Carnival on Monday Evening the New Windsor Fire & Hose Company #1 crowned three girls with the title of Miss Fire Prevention for 2010-2011.

Each contestant gave a three to five minute presentation to the judges and those in attendance on fire prevention and then answered two questions, why fire prevention was important to them and a surprise question drawn from a bag. The three will serve as good will ambassadors for the department, represent the department at various events including county and state fire prevention competitions, and spread the word of fire prevention and life safety to various organizations and schools in the New Windsor area.
