At 11:08am units from New Windsor and Union Bridge were dispatched for a report of a motor vehicle collision with entrapment at the intersection of Route 31 and Church Street in front of the 7-11. First arriving Medic 109 found a two vehicle collision with one vehicle on its side and confirmed that one occupant was confined in the vehicle. Engine 102 marked on the scene a few moments later and its crew went to work stabilizing the vehicle. Chief 10 (T. Coe) established the Route 31 Command and requested a second ambulance. Rescue Squad 8 arrived and assisted in the completion of stabilization with a "tie back" of the car on its side and then assisted Engine 102's crew with extrication of the occupant by "flapping the roof". The extrication was completed in 15 minutes. Medic 109 transported 1 patient to Shock Trauma by ground while Paramedic 89 transported 1 patient to Carroll Hospital Center.
