May 25, 2013
Just after 5pm units from Westminster, Pleasant Valley, Reese, New Windsor and Taneytown were dispatched to the Unit Block of Golden Eagle Court in Westminster for a reported house fire with entrapment. As units checked up, dispatch advised that all occupants were accounted for and were out of the house. First arriving P37 found a two-story single family dwelling with smoke showing. Engine 33 arrived and established command as their crew pulled an attack line to the rear of the structure. The Westminster units found a fire that had rapidly advanced up the exterior vinal siding of the residence and had been extinguished by the home owner by use of a garden hose. Engine 101 arrived, taking the second due position and and secured Engine 33's water supply and the crew of the unit worked with Engine 33 to confirm that the fire was out. Chief 3 held the assignment with Stations 3, Engine 101 and Engine 63 and requested a fire marshal. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
