At 6:51am on Thursday January 11th units from Pleasant Valley, Westminster, New Windsor, Reese and Taneytown were disaptched to the 1300 block of Hughes Shop Road. Engine 61 arrived to find a single story single family home with smoke showing. Lieutenant 6-4 (M. Gist) established Hughes Shop Road Command and reported a working kitchen fire. The crews from Engines 61 and 33 worked together to quickly knock the fire down and open up the kitchen area to confirm that the fire had not extended into other areas of the house.
