At 1:58pm units from New Windsor were dispatched to the 4100 Block of Hawks Hill Road for a reported brush fire. First arriving Captain 10 (S. Kreimer) found a rapidly moving woods fire, Hawks Hill Road Command was established and a brush task force was requested. Brush 105 came back the driveway and deployed a 400' forestry line and began to knock the fire. Engine 101 laid a 3' supply line up the drive way and its crew deployed with brush rakes to begin to cut in a fire line. Additional units arrived and assisted in knocking down the fire, cutting a fire line around the perimeter of the fire and overhauling hot spots. The fire was contained by 2:45pm and units continued to operate at the scene until almost 4:00pm which was when all hot spots were extinguished. The fire covered just over 3 acres and was started by a controlled burning.
