During the month of September the New Windsor Fire Department conducted our annual driver's refresher training. This year's training focused on our pump operators conducting a "relay" to supply water to a simulated fireground. Engine 102 drafted from the dry hydrant on Nicodemus Road and pumped water up hill through several hundred feet of supply line to Engine 101 who boosted water pressure as it pumped uphill through several hundred more feet of supply line to Brush 105 who was the "attack engine" pumping 500 gallons per minute through a TFT Blitz Fire. This exercise allowed our pump operators to rotate through each unit to practice several important skills in moving water. The training was developed and run by Assitant Chief Mike Moser and members of the driver's trainng committee.
