At 3:52pm the Carroll County 911 center began to receive calls for a motor vehicle accident with a subject trapped at the intersection of Route 31 and Medford Road. As units from New Windsor and Union Bridge were dispatched additional calls from an off duty firefighter and police officer confirmed one subject trapped and requested two additional ambulances to assist with multiple injured subjects. The extrication was completed in 9 minutes. A total of 3 patients were transported from the scene. Two to Carroll Hospital Center and One to Shock Trauma via MSP Aviation. Units operated on the scene for an hour prior to returning to service.
