At 1:30pm Local Alarm 10-5 was sounded for a fire in the bed of a pick-up truck on Route 31 in the area of Feather Lane. Engine 101 found a pick-up truck with fire in the bed as well as the passenger compartment on Route 31 just prior to Marston Road. The fire was quickly extinguished and the road reopened. Cause of the fire was determined to be improperly discarded smoking materials. Engine 101 operated for 45 minutes prior to retuning to service.
