At 7:15pm box alarm 14-12 was sounded for a report of a Garage Fire in the area of the 3100 Block of Ridge Road. Units from Winfield, New Windsor, Westminster and Mt Airy responded to the alarm. Multiple reports of a working incident were fielded by the Carroll County 911 center with no caller able to provide an exact address. First arriving Chief 14-1 (Schneider), found a 60x30, two bay garage as well as a dump truck well involved in fire. Command was established by Chief 14-1 and the rapid intervention dispatch requested. Engine 101, the first arriving engine, immediately went to work cooling a large propane tank and placed a 2" handline in service to extinguish the fire. Brush 105 drafted from a pond on Glenloch Drive to supply water for the fire attack. Later in the incident Engine 102, Paramedic 109 and Haz Mat 30 would all provide assistance at the scene. Units operated for just over 3 hours prior to returning to service. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
