Just before 10am calls began pouring into the Carroll County 911 Center reporting a vehicle collision with 1 subject trapped at the intersection of Main Street and High Street. Seconds later the assignment was dispatched bringing Paramedic 109, Engine 102, Utility 10 and Rescue Squad 8 (Union Bridge) to the scene. First arriving Chief 10-1 (B. Welker) found a two vehicle collision with one overturned and he established "Command 10". Engine 102 arrived and stabilized the vehicle and began patient removal while Paramedic 109 began patient care. Further evaluation of the patients caused the request for MSP Aviation and a second ambulance. Once the patient was extricated Engine 102 moved to the New Windsor Middle School and established a landing site for Trooper 3 who transported a patient to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Paramedic 89 transported a second patient to Carroll Hospital Center. The NWFD units operated on the scene for just under an hour.
