| At 0145 units from the southern end of the county were dispatched to the 2200 Block of Flag Marsh Road for a house explosion. First arriving Engine from Howard Station 4 found a house which was leveled from an explosion with several others damaged. Chief 1 (Browning) arrived, established command and requested a rapid intervention dispatch and a tanker task force. Brush 105 was dispatched to complete the first alarm assignment and assisted by drafting water from a nearby stream to support the fire attack. Engine 101 was dispatched when additional units were requested to assist in the water supply operation. Units worked for several hours to extinguish the fire, survey the damage and check for injuries. Amazingly no one was injured however 7 houses sustained damage, one of which was completely destroyed and two others with significant damage. The incident is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshall's Office with the preliminary findings involving propane used at the house which sustained the most damage.
