At 5:38pm units from Westminster, New Windsor, Pleasant Valley, Reese and Taneytown were dispatched to the 500 Block of Congressional Drive for a reported townhouse fire. First arriving Chief 3-1 (J. Starry) arrived to find nothing showing but quickly upgraded to smoke from the second floor and established Congressional Drive Command. Engine 31 arrived and pulled an attack line and headed to the first floor while Engine 101 headed to the second floor to cut off any vertical fire extension. Crews found a kitchen fire which was quickly extinguished. Command held the assignment with the units from Westminster and New Windsor and returned the rest of the box. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire and its cause was ruled unintentional. Units operated on the scene for 90 minutes.
