Mutual Aid to Westminster on the Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment on Nicodemus Road

At 5:05pm units from the Westminster Fire Department were dispatched for a report of a motor vehicle collision on Nicodemus Road east of Route 27 (Ridge Road). Paramedic 37 and Engine 31 arrived to find single vehicle off the roadway down a steep embankment with the driver confined in the SUV. Engine 31 requested the rescue assignment be filled adding Engine 102 and Rescue Squad 9. Engine 31 quickly performed a door removal to extricate the patient. Engine 102 arrived and established a haul system and provided the stokes basket for the overland rescue. Engine 102 operated for 25 minutes prior to returning to service. Paramedic 37 transported the patient to Carroll Hospital Center.
