Members from the New Windsor and Union Bridge Fire Department joined together for our second annual "Rescue Day". The event challenged members from both departments in 4 different rescue related scenarios across our coverage area. The first scenario involved an injured person on an elevated platform that required packaging and the construction of a lowering system to assist the patient to the ground. Scenario two presented responders with a crane that upset pinning a victim underneath a steel beam. To complicate the scenario the victim was impaled on a piece of rebar. Scenario three had the rescuers extricating a victim from a silage wagon on a farm. The final and most challenging event involved a motor vehicle collision where a victim was pinned in a camper underneath a overturned concrete truck.

Once all four events were completed both departments ate an excellent lunch that was provided by the Union Bridge Fire Department. The New Windsor Fire Department would like to thank the local businesses who assisted us in this excellent day of training!
