At 10:09am units from Westminster, New Windsor and Pleasant Valley were dispatched to the 1800 Block of Uniontown Road for a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision with Entrapment. First arriving Chief 10 (T. Coe) found a 2 vehicle collision with no entrapment and held the units from Westminster. Paramedic 38 transported 1 minor injury to Carroll Hospital Center while Engine 31 quickly picked up responded to the report of a residential fire alarm just up the street in the 2300 Block of Uniontown Road.

Engine 31 arrived at the scene of the residential fire alarm and found a farm house charged with smoke and requested the remainder of the box alarm assignment. The upgraded assignment brought Engine 101, Engine 102 (from the motor vehicle collision), Brush 105 and Ambulance 109 from New Windsor. Engine 31's crew forced entry through the front doors and found the house charged with smoke and quickly searched the large farm house for the source. Chief 3-1 (J. Starry) arrived and established the Uniontown Road Command. Engine 31's crew found a small fire in the basement and quickly extinguished it and Uniontown Road Command held the assignment with Stations 3 and 10. The personnel from New Windsor remained on the scene for 40 minutes ventilating the house. While working on ventilating the smoke from the second floor crews found a small dog named "Gabby" hiding underneath the bed and were able to safely bring it out of smoky environment.
