On Saturday December 14th the New Windsor Fire Department joined forces with departments from Union Bridge, Winfield, Libertytown, Emmitsburg and Thurmont to participate in a live fire training in an acquired structure. The house, in the 4100 block of Hawks Hill Road, was donated to the fire department for training purposes. Approximately 50 personnel drilled in hose line advancement, fire attack, search, rescue, ventilation and overhaul over a five hour period. Twelve training scenarios were conducted until the house was allowed to burn to the ground. The home was leveled to allow for the property owners to build a new house. The New Windsor Fire Department would like to thank the property owners for their donation which allowed for a lot of valuable training!
