Mid Atlantic Technical Rescue's Advanced Vehicle Extrication and Stabilization Course will be held at the New Windsor Fire Department on Friday November 6th, Saturday November 7th and Sunday November 8th. This highly sought after program is again being offered in central Maryland. This 2+ day program, developed and taught by Mid-Atlantic Technical Rescue, has become extremely popular in the region. Focusing on large vehicles such as tractor trailers, dump trucks, cement mixers, etc., the course shows you how to mitigate these difficult scenarios without the aid of heavy tow trucks and wreckers. The program begins with an evening slide show covering the technical aspects of big trucks (weight, terminology, etc.), basic physics principles of rescue, cribbing systems and shoring techniques, etc. Then the next two full days are spent rotating through four difficult and challenging scenarios with various “large and heavy” vehicles. Participants will utilize multiple types of rescue equipment and techniques to mitigate these scenarios. Unlike other programs that focus strictly on tow trucks or single tool techniques, this course shows multiple ways to accomplish your extrication goals using what you carry on your rescue vehicles. The course is FREE of CHARGE!! The course is being hosted by the New Windsor Fire Department and sponsored in full by the Union Bridge Fire Department. Lunch will be provided to all attendees.
