For the over a year a committee of five NWFD members has been hard at work writing the specifications for the department's new rescue engine. Over the summer a contract was awarded to Seagrave, a company that the New Windsor Fire Department has enjoyed an outstanding 22 year relationship with.

The department received our first round of weekly construction pictures and were amazed at the progress of the new unit. The cab has been constructed and to the paint shop. Currently they are working on wire, light and control installation in the cab. They are wrapping up the welding on the body which should soon be heading to the paint shop and have been assembling the plumping for the 2,000gpm pump. The committee is currently scheduled to travel to Clintonville Wisconsin for final inspection of the new unit during the second week of March!

The new engine will replace a 22 year old unit that is currently for sale. Keep an eye on the website for weekly updates on the unit.
