New Utility Vehicle Placed Into Service

At 5:30pn on Thursday August 11th the New Windsor Fire Department placed into service a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban. The unit will be known as Utility 10 and serves the department in many capacities. The unit is carries Advanced Life Support Equipment and runs Emergency Medical Calls when the Ambulance is committed to another incident, it is used to transport manpower to incidents and utilized as an incident command post during more complex incidents. The unit is also equipped with 4 wheel drive to assist with scene access during inclement weather.

The "new" Utility 10 replaces a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban who provided the Department with 22 years of service!
