Mutual Aid to Westminster for the House Fire -- 1400 Block of Old Westminster Road

At 4:48pm units from Westminster, New Windsor, Winfield and Gamber were alerted for the report of a house fire in the 1400 Block of Old Westminster Road. First arriving Chief 3-1 (Haddad) found smoke showing from the rear of the residence. He quickly confirmed a working fire, requested the Rapid Intervention Dispatch and established the Old Westminster Road Command. Engine 102 arrived as the second due engine and picked up Engine 31's supply line and the crew proceeded to assist with fire attack. Brush 105 was assigned to establish a water supply fill site at the dry hydrant at Nicodemus Road near Medford road to re-fill tankers participating in the rural water supply. Engine 101 responded as part of the rapid intervention dispatch. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes with fire damaging both the he first and second floors. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries and the fire remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
