At 4:46pm units from Carroll and Frederick Counties were dispatched to the 9000 Block of Tarr Drive for a report of a house fire with 2 occupants trapped. While enroute units were updated that all occupants were able to exit the structure. Libertytown's Chief 17-2 (M. Ritter) arrived first to find a single story, single family dwelling with fire showing. AC Ritter established the Tarr Drive Command and requested the rapid intervention dispatch. Engine 101 arrived as the second due engine company, the crew spit with one taking a back up attack line to the fire floor and the other grabbing hooks to open up the ceiling for a fire that had begin to consume the attic. The fire was placed under control in 30 minutes. The damage was estimated at over $200,000 and the red cross is assisting the family with temporary housing. The NWFD units operated for over 2 hours prior to returning to service. The fire is being investigated by the Frederick County Fire Marshal's Office.
