Mutual Aid to Frederick County - Large Mulch Pile Fire - 8500 Block of Woodville Road

At 00:46hrs units from Frederick and Carroll Counties were dispatched to the intersection of Unionville Road and Route 26 for a report of a house fire in the area. Libertytown's Chief 17-2 (M. Ritter) went on the scene in the 8500 block of Woodville Road with several large piles of mulch and brush on fire. Crews set up a rural water supply operation to supply Tower 12 and a few handlines to knock the fire down. Crews worked with heavy construction equipment to separate the burning portions of the mulch piles. Units operated for over 5 hours until being released by command.
