2 Trapped in the Route 31 Vehicle Collision

At 5:49pm units from New Windsor and Union Bridge were dispatched to the report of a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Route 31 and Tibbetts Lane. First arriving Chief 10 (T. Coe) found a two car collision with one in a ditch on its roof. Chief 10 established command and requested three additional ambulances. A quick triage revealed a total of 6 injured with 2 trapped in the vehicle. The crews from New Windsor and Rescue Squad 8 had both patients extricated in 15 minutes. Five patients with minor injuries were transported to Carroll Hospital Center and 1 patient was transported by ground to Shock Trauma. The New Windsor units operated for 50 minutes prior to turning the scene over to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
