This week the New Windsor Fire Department installed a new in station alerting system. Capitalizing on new technology, the new system not only alerts members of emergency response incidents by activating a series of tones and lights around the station but also serves as a digital bulletin board for members to receive departmental information. Four digital monitors display station announcements, list recent incidents and show the local weather radar and upon dispatch of a response the displays show all needed information that responders need to know about the response to include address, call type, units due and other pertinent information.
