Sound the Alarm Smoke Detector Install - February 29th, 2020

On Saturday, February 29th, 2020 the American Red Cross of Western Maryland is working in partnership with the New Windsor Fire Department to host a "Sound the Alarm" event. We will provide free 10 year smoke detectors for those who request them as part of the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign. The Sound the Alarm Campaign is a focused event designed to raise awareness of the advantages of the home fire preparedness and prevention while also helping as many people as possible in a short time frame.

On February 29th, 2020 we will have several teams of 2-3 volunteers working in and around New Windsor to install free smoke detectors in the homes of anyone who needs them, or would like an upgrade to their existing detectors. In addition, we will also brief homeowners on home fire safety and preparedness, with the overall goal of making New Windsor an even safer community.

To schedule a FREE Smoke Detector Installation:
- Call (443)297-7247 and indicate that you're participating in the "February 29th" New Windsor Event
- Visit https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=vms_public_form&form_id=6838 and in the box asking "Best Time to Reach You?" enter "February 29th New Windsor Event"

To Volunteer
To sign up as an event volunteer for February 29th, go to www.Soundthealarm.org and click on the button on the left side of the column for "Find an Event." Enter Zip Code 21776 for New Windsor . Then select the Shift(s) you are interested in and complete the registration form.
