On Saturday, February 29, 2020, members from the New Windsor Fire Department and volunteers from the American Red Cross of Western Maryland canvassed the New Windsor community to "Sound the Alarm" and install smoke detectors in homes all over the New Windsor community.

Due to the hard work of all parties involved we were able to install 100 smoke alarms in houses throughout New Windsor. The New Windsor Fire Department would like to thank the American Red Cross of Western Maryland for having this event in New Windsor. In addition to the support of the American Red Cross of Western Maryland, the department would like to thank the New Windsor State Bank for their support of this event. The New Windsor community is safer tonight because of everyone efforts.
