Recently, the New Windsor Fire Department, partnered with both the Union Bridge Fire Department, and Taneytown Fire Department to purchase a Curis Decontamination System, to help ensure the safety of both our clinicians and the patients we transport.

While researching best practices for decontamination, and reviewing the studies of how long the coronavirus lives on different surfaces, it became apparent that we needed to look at different options for our high risk patient transports.

Curis manufactures hydrogen peroxide-based fogging systems used to disinfect hospital rooms, medical transport vehicles, and other enclosed areas using pulse technology and decontamination is an imperative part of fighting the spread of the Coronavirus. The Curis Decontamination System is EPA registered, EPA Registration Number 93324-1, and with its 7% Hydrogen Peroxide Fog, it kills 99.9999% of all gems. The Curis System was named the Top Innovations of the Year for 2018 by Infection Control Tips.

The leadership of the New Windsor Fire Department would like to thank the Union Bridge Fire Department and Taneytown Fire Department, for their willingness to work together, to ensure the safety of both our clinicians and citizens we serve.
