Mutual Aid to Westminster for Vehicle Rescue

On October 15 at 1828hrs(6:28pm) Engine 102 was alerted to assist Westminster in the area of Rockland Rd & Wampler Ln for a vehicle collision with entrapment. Westminster Chief 3-2(J. Leppert) arrived to find one vehicle over the guardrail in the trees with one person trapped establishing the command. Engine 31(Westminster) arrived and initiated stabilizing the vehicle.

Engine 102 arrived and assisted in stabilizing the vehicle. Once stabilized crews from Engine 102, Engine 31 and Rescue Squad 6 (Pleasant Valley) assisted in extrication of the patient. Trooper 3 (Maryland State Police Aviation) was requested due to the circumstances of the accident. Engine 32 set up the helicopter landing zone at Westminster Elementary. The crews from Westminster, New Windsor & Pleasant Valley worked for around 20-30 minutes with the unique situation on hand. The patient was removed from the vehicle to Medic 39 to be transferred to the landing zone. Trooper 3 transported the patient to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
