Westminster, MD (October 4, 2021) – The Carroll County Health Department is planning three Pfizer booster shot clinics at area senior centers to help make it easy for qualified residents to get their boosters.

Westminster Senior Center
Thursday, October 14, 2021 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM

South Carroll Senior and Community Center
Thursday, October 21, 2021 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM

North Carroll Senior Center
Thursday, October 28, 2021 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM

People who qualify for Pfizer booster shots must have received their 2nd Pfizer shot at least 6 months ago. According to the CDC:

You should get a booster if you are:

Age 65+
Age 18+ and live in a long-term care facility
Age 50-64 with underlying medical conditions (including cancer, lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, smoking, etc.)
You may choose to get a booster if you are:

Age 18-49 with underlying medical conditions
Age 18-64 and at increased risk of exposure as a front-line worker, including*:
First responders (healthcare workers, firefighters, police, congregate care staff)
Education staff (teachers, support staff, daycare workers)
Food and agriculture workers
Manufacturing workers
Corrections workers
S. Postal Service workers
Public transit workers
Grocery store workers
*This list could be updated in the future.

Registration is required for these clinics. Register online at https://cchd.maryland.gov/covid-19-booster-shots/ or call 410-876-4848 for assistance.

Many people have already received their booster shots at their healthcare provider’s office, pharmacy, long-term care facility, and other locations.

People aged 12 and up can also register to get their 1st or 2nd Pfizer dose at these clinics. The Health Department is offering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd doses of Pfizer and Moderna, as well as Johnson & Johnson when available, at their small Health Department clinics. Third doses are for people who are immunocompromised. Space is very limited at these clinics, so booster shots are not available.

The CDC will be reviewing data in the coming weeks and will make recommendations about those who got the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
