The members of the New Windsor Fire Department proudly congratulate Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS Firefighter/EMT Austin McCormick on his recent hiring with the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, personnel from the New Windsor Fire Department joined fellow members of the Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS “A” Shift to recognize and celebrate this significant career milestone.

Over the past year, FF/EMT McCormick has become a valued and respected member of the New Windsor Fire Department family. Known for his exceptional attention to detail and pride in his work, Austin consistently set a high standard for professionalism. His dedication was especially evident in the care and upkeep of his assigned unit, earning him the reputation of maintaining one of the cleanest ambulances in the county.

While we are saddened to see Austin move on from our department, we are equally proud of his accomplishments and excited to see what the future holds for him. His work ethic, commitment to excellence, and passion for serving others will undoubtedly serve him well as he begins his journey with the District of Columbia.
