Member Successfully Passes Firefighter I

The New Windsor Fire Department would like to congratulate one of new members, Sam, for successfully completing the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute's Firefighter I program. This course which is taught locally at the Carroll County Public Safety Training Center is 135 hours long and is free to members of the volunteer fire service. Firefighter I covers the such topics as the Fire Department Organization, Communications, the Incident Command System, Ropes and Knots, Fire Behavior, Safety, Fire Prevention, Personal Protective Equipment, Fire Extinguishers, Ventilation, Handlines, Forcible Entry, Search and Rescue Procedures and Sprinkler Systems.

Congratulations, Sam on successfully passing your first course, we look forward to your continued success!
