Just after lunchtime units from Carroll, Frederick, Howard and Montgomery were sent to the Four Corners Area for a House on Fire in the 900 Black of Ridge Road (Howard County Box 4-10). Due to all of the apparatus on the call New Windsor was dispatched to transfer to the Winfield Station. While enroute to Winfield, Engine 101 was redirected to fill-in the Mount Airy Station and within minutes of that move they were called to assist with the house fire. Engine 101 remained on the scene for just over an hour before returning to quarters. While Engine 101 was operating on the house fire Engine 102 was pulled to cover Winfield.
Not long after all of the Station 10 units returned to quarters Paramedic 109 and Engine 101 were called to assist with a hand amputation in the 300 Block of Clear Ridge Road, that patient was referred to the Curtis Hand Center at Union Memorial Hospital.
As Engine 101 returned from the EMS assist, Structure Alarm 10-3 was sounded bringing units from Stations 10, 8 and 3 to the 4100 Block of Sam's Creek Road for the Chimney Fire. Due to a limited access driveway Brush 105 was the first to the residence finding a Single Story Single Family Dwelling with nothing evident. Engine 101's crew hiked back the driveway and assisted the crew from Brush 105 with the extinguishment of a small chimney fire without any extension to the structure.
