A quiet afternoon at the station was cut short at 2:08pm when Communications 32 (D. Nelson) came across the radio reporting a shed on fire in the 200 Block of Stem Road. Immediately Structure Alarm 8-10 was sounded bringing units from Union Bridge and New Windsor to the call. Engine 101 arrived immediately behind Engine 81 to find a small shed fully involved. Engine 101 picked up Engine 81's supply line and pulled a second attack line. Chief 8-1 (M. Cartwright) arrived and established the Stem Road Command. A "Pro-Pack" with class B Foam was deployed to contain a gasoline fire from a can within the shed which ruptured. Units from Stations 8 & 10 operated on the call for an hour prior to returning to service, the shed and its contents were a total loss.
