At 11:30pm units from Union Bridge, New Windsor, Taneytown, Liberytown and Westminster were dispatched to the unit block of South Main Street in Union Bridge for the reported apartment fire. Within minutes Captain 8 (C. Harris) arrived to find fire showing from the second floor of a 4 story apartment building. Captain Harris established "Main Street Command" and requested the rapid intervention dispatch. Engine-Tanker 84 arrived, secured their own hydrant and began to knock the fire. Engine 101 brought a second supply line into the scene and assisted with fire attack. Brush 105 picked up and supplied Engine 101's line. The New Windsor units operated for over 3 hours prior to returning to the station. The fire remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. 1 firefighter from Union Bridge was injured during the incident.
