At 1:21pm units from New Windsor, Union Bridge, Winfield, Libertytown and Westminster were dispatched for a reported barn fire in the 2000 Block of Wilt Road. First arriving units from New Windsor found a 30' x 100' pole barn with hay on fire in the rear of the building. Multiple lines were deployed to quickly knock down the fire. The structure and most of the livestock were saved as a result of the firefight. Firefighters worked with the farmer who used a skidloader to remove the smoldering hay from the barn. Units from New Windsor operated on the scene for 90 minutes prior to returning to service.
