| A significant milestone has been achieved in the construction of New Windsor Fire and Hose Company No. 1’s next frontline Brush Truck. Last week, the chassis for the department’s new Brush 105 arrived at Vengeant Apparatus, marking the official beginning of its transformation from a design concept into a fully functional firefighting vehicle.
The delivery of the Ford Super Duty chassis represents an important step in the department’s plan to replace its aging brush truck with a modern, state-of-the-art unit tailored for today’s wildland and off-road firefighting operations. Although Vengeant Apparatus has not yet released an exact fabrication start date, the anticipated completion and delivery timeline projects the truck’s arrival in approximately 22 months.
When finished, Brush 105 will feature enhanced capabilities to improve the department’s effectiveness in responding to brush, field, and off-road emergencies. The new unit will also function as a mini-pumper, capable of accessing remote areas that are difficult to reach with larger apparatus—continuing the department’s mission to provide dependable, high-performance service to the New Windsor community.
This project is made possible thanks to the tremendous support of the community. The Brush 105 replacement is part of the department’s ongoing apparatus replacement plan, funded through local fundraising events and generous community donations that help ensure firefighters have the tools they need to protect lives and property.
The department will share regular progress updates, including photos and milestones from the build process, on its official website at www.nwfd10.org.
Stay tuned as Brush 105 takes shape—another proud example of the New Windsor community and its volunteers working together to keep our town safe and prepared for the future. |
