| Members of the New Windsor Fire Department recently took an important step forward in strengthening the department’s ufirefighting capabilities. Department representatives traveled to Vengeant Fire Apparatus alongside Bob Rosensteel of Atlantic Emergency Solutions to conduct the official pre-construction meeting for the department’s newest apparatus—Brush 105.
This meeting marked the transition from planning to production, allowing department members to review specifications, confirm operational needs, and ensure every detail of the apparatus is designed to meet the unique demands of New Windsor and the surrounding region.
The new Brush 105 will be built on a rugged Ford F-550 cab and chassis and equipped to handle both wildland and interface incidents with confidence. Planned features include: • A 1,500 GPM Waterous pump • 200-gallon water tank • 1,000 feet of 4” large-diameter hose • Two 200-foot crosslays for rapid deployment • A 16,500-pound winch to support off-road and recovery operations
Once in service, Brush 105 will significantly enhance the department’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to brush fires, rural incidents, and complex emergency situations.
The department anticipates delivery of the new apparatus no later than July 2027, at which time Brush 105 will proudly serve the New Windsor community for years to come.
This project represents another major investment in firefighter safety, operational readiness, and continued commitment to protecting the citizens of New Windsor and our neighboring communities. |
