| The New Windsor Fire Department was proud to join local law enforcement, community organizations, and residents for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the New Windsor Fire Department Carnival Grounds.
National Night Out provides an opportunity for residents to connect with first responders and community organizations in a relaxed, family-friendly setting while promoting public safety, community partnerships, and stronger relationships throughout the community.
During the event, the New Windsor Fire Department provided several interactive activities for attendees. A fire engine was on display, giving children and adults an opportunity to tour the apparatus, see some of the equipment carried by our firefighters, and learn more about the services the department provides.
Members also staffed a recruitment station, where visitors could learn more about becoming involved with the New Windsor Fire Department and the many opportunities available to serve their community.
One of the evening's hands-on activities was the department's Hands-Only CPR demonstration booth. Fire department personnel worked with residents to demonstrate the basic steps of Hands-Only CPR and provided participants an opportunity to practice this potentially lifesaving skill. Early recognition of cardiac arrest and immediate CPR can make a critical difference while emergency medical services are responding.
Events such as National Night Out provide an important opportunity for our members to meet the people we serve outside of an emergency and help residents become more familiar with their local first responders.
The New Windsor Fire Department would like to thank the Carroll County Sheriff's Office and Deputy McGinnis for hosting National Night Out and for bringing together numerous public safety agencies and community organizations for the evening. Their efforts helped create an event focused on education, safety, partnership, and strengthening the New Windsor community.
We also thank everyone who stopped by our displays, toured the engine, practiced Hands-Only CPR, or took the time to learn more about the New Windsor Fire Department. We enjoyed spending the evening with our community and look forward to participating again next year. |
