| The smell of steamed crabs and Old Bay filled the New Windsor Fire Department Saturday evening as a packed house gathered for the department’s All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feed.
Held Saturday, September 19, the fundraiser brought together community members, families and friends for an evening of great food and fellowship while raising funds for the New Windsor Fire & Hose Company No. 1.
Harris Seafood Company of Grasonville supplied the crabs, with bushels of freshly steamed crabs served throughout the evening. The menu also featured fried chicken, potato salad, sweet corn on the cob, crab soup, chips and pretzels, cake, soda and beer.
Department members and volunteers spent the evening steaming crabs, preparing and serving food, and ensuring guests had an enjoyable experience as the apparatus bays filled with attendees.
Proceeds from the event will help support the department’s operations, including the purchase and maintenance of apparatus and equipment, member training, and other resources needed to provide fire, rescue and emergency medical services.
The New Windsor Fire Department extends its appreciation to Harris Seafood Company for supplying the crabs, to the members and volunteers who worked to make the event possible, and especially to everyone who purchased tickets and joined us for the evening.
